Andre Villas-Boas has hit out at the X-rated tackle from Charlie Adam that saw Gareth Bale leave the Baltimore stadium in a protective boot. It is not the first time the pair has clashed with Adam previously putting Bale out of action for three months two seasons ago and his studs-up tackle yesterday has left the Tottenham boss furious. AVB said that Bale was in a lot of pain with a badly twisted ankle and was unsure if there will be any lasting damage to the winger.

Elsewhere in the news Paul Scholes says Manchester City have raised the bar; John Terry’s England future hinges on the FA enquiry, while Arsenal make a move for La Liga duo.
